Dividing Roots
When you divide two roots with the SAME base number, you subtract the indices
- Example 1. work out 625½ ÷ 625¼
- Example 2. work out 10241/5 ÷ 10241/10
625½ ÷ 625¼
= | 625(½−¼) | |
= | 625¼ = 4√625 = 5 |
10241/5 ÷ 10241/10
= | 1024(1/5−1/10) | |
= | 10241/10 = 2 |
