Terms are numbers, letters and brackets that are mulitplied together, for example

Are a string of terms that are separated by either plus + or minus −
10xy + 3x − 4y2 + 5 | |
10xy | Is the xy term. |
+ 3x | Is the x term |
− 4y2 | Is the y2 term |
+ 5 | Is the number term |
